KYAPS gifts its members

Ahead of the Christmas festive season, over 1000 members of Kyamuhunga People’s SACCO today walked away with joy and a smile on their faces after their SACCO gifted them with different prizes.

Among the prizes included 27 cows, 26 goats, 25mattresses and 400 biterekye. The prizes were handed over to the beneficiaries across KYAP’s 10branches in Western region.

At the head office in Butare town, Kyamuhunga town council, the handover ceremony was presided over by Moses Bikanya the Kyamuhunga town council mayor who was accompanied by the SACCO’s leadership led by Paul Kahiigi, the Board of Directors chairperson.

The General Manager John Bosco Atwijukire said the beneficiaries are part of the members who participated in the SACCO’s mobilization campaign dubbed ‘Ekiterekye’ where members bought more shares.

Both Kahiigi and Bikanya hailed members for participating in the campaign that has boosted the SACCO capital base. Kahiigi said KYAPS is one of the best performing SACCOs in the country with 10branches now. He said KYAPS has become a role model in the SACCO industry.

Kahiigi appealed to the members and the general public to spend wisely in this coming Christmas festival noting that; after the festive season life will continue especially school fees.

He also explained that the SACCO’s mission is in line with government and President Yoweri Museveni’s message of helping people to increase their household incomes.

Atwijukire said KYAPS is helping the Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCOs to start and grow by offering them leadership trainings so that they can take off.  End.
