BUSHENYI: As one way of giving back to the community, a consignment of assorted items was yesterday distributed to the Muslims community in Bushenyi district.

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Bushenyi area distributed the items to 37 Mosques in Bushenyi district to support some Muslims in celebrating their Day-Eid Mubarak. The items included rice, sugar, cooking oil, and soap among others.

They were handed over to the leaders of the Muslims by officials from NWSC Bushenyi area and the function was presided over by the Bushenyi district chairman Jaffari Bassajjabalaba at Bassajjabalaba mosque in Ishaka.

“As you can see, NWSC has not stopped only at billing us money for water but it has gone ahead to share with us,” Kiyimba said. Kiyimba challenged other parastatal bodies/agencies to emulate NWSC.

On his part, the district chairman Bassajjabalaba thanked NWSC for taking the agency closer to the people. “Some of us were born when NWSC was already here but we had never seen such interventions,” said Bassajjabalaba as he saluted the NWSC Managing Director Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha.

Adams Kyakuwa an official from NWSC who represented the Bushenyi area Manager said over the years, NWSC has registered tremendous growth/achievements through a multi-stakeholder approach and engagements. END.
