KAMPALA: The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has announced three days of free entry to National parks across the country.

The three days offer will run from September 25th-27th when Uganda will be joining the rest of the World to commemorate World Tourism Day. The offer aims at highlighting UWA’s conservation efforts in and around the protected areas and giving Ugandans the opportunity to appreciate what their country is endowed with.

The campaign also aims at increasing awareness about Uganda’s gem as another way of encouraging more domestic visitations.

According to UWA, all Ugandans, the East African citizens and foreign residents in Uganda will find all the ‘gates in the national parks wide open.’

The Savannah National parks include; Queen Elizabeth National park, Kidepo Valley National park, Murchison Falls National park, Lake Mburo national park and Pian Upe wildlife reserve.

UWA initiated the free park entry days last year-2024.

The UWA executive director Dr.James Musinguzi says the number of both domestic and international tourists visiting Uganda’s national parks has steadily been increasing which he attributed to concerted efforts by government agencies including UWA, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and the different stakeholders. End.
