BUSHENYI: Cyril, I saw you “signing out” of Bushenyi on Thursday!
On my way from Mitooma where i had gone for burial, i made a stop-over at Peak Hotel for a cup of tea and I saw you from a distance! You were sited on a round table together with your dear wife and someone who ‘looked like your son’!!
Later, you all walked out of the garden! You were holding something like a ‘binded ka doc’! You were in your usual moods!
I wish I reached your table to say hello!!
Now you’re gone!
Cyril, my former lecturer at Kampala International University (KIU), you will be remembered for your rich knowledge/expertise in Natural resources!!

Bushenyi has remained green! Bushenyi has not met any fatal disastrous catastrophe caused by nature of recent, not because the area is special and immune to disasters BUT it’s because of your great efforts in advocating and educating the masses issues of environmental/natural resources protection. You dedicated all your time to fulfill the calling of your profession.
Cyril, no wonder you’ve left Greater Bushenyi region totally green! You’ve left Bushenyi region with streams of water running-because you were there for our wetlands protection! You promoted tree planting and people listened!
Cyril, you made some of us fall in love with nature! You mentored us! You inspired us….! You walked the talk!!
Oh Cyril, your last post on our farmer’s page, you were advising us on a certain weed/crop that helps to mulch coffee and we’ve all been eager to visit you at your farm where you had set base for your retirement times!
Cyril, you’ve been consistent, resilient, a very principled man on earth, you have been patient with life……!
Bushenyi District Local government where you’ve been serving as head of Natural resources has not lost alone but the people of Bushenyi, the lovers of nature, conservationists……..have lost! You’ve gone at a wrong time where we needed your expertise in combating the effects of climate change!
Cyril in your calm nature, you’ve signed out calmly!! Rest in peace Cyril till we meet again!
